RASHES

Newborns can have a variety of benign rashes during the first days of life. The skin has been in fluids for nine months, so a transition time getting used to the air is to be expected. Most infants will exhibit some degree of “newborn acne” during the first two to three weeks. This will look like a mild acne with red skin around the “white-head.”You do not need to do anything for this rash. It will resolve without any special care. Infants usually have dry peeling skin, so do not be alarmed by this. If you have any questions regarding these rashes, please bring the baby to our office.
